Spirit Orbs are only awarded for powering up a character to max level for the first time.

If you have already powered up a given character to max level, you will not receive the Spirit Orb reward for powering the same character up to max level again.

Characters that have already been powered up to max level have a badge icon in the top right-hand corner of their character thumbnail.
